Defisja
Kennels

Defisja Kennels isn't really a kennel at all. It's a loving home that includes a bunch of Australian Cattle Dogs and 2 rescue dogs (along with 5 house cats, 2 barn cats, a 75-gallon aquarium with pettable fish, a few cows, a small flock of Shetland sheep, a large flock of Katahdin sheep, and a couple of very crazy people). The name of Defisja is merely used as a prefix to identify the few puppies we have produced over the years, as well as being used as a collective label for all the wonderful members of our canine family and farm. This web site is intended as a way to "show off" our canine companions and sometimes even our lambs. We also hope that this site can be a tool for newcomers in learning about the breed, finding links to other ACD related sites, and even learning about responsible dog purchasing, ownership, and breeding. First of all, you're bound to be wondering about the name "Defisja." After all, it is rather odd. But it has a very special meaning to us. It is derived from the names of the three foundation dogs, all of whom are now deceased, who first got us into the crazy but rewarding world of dog sports. Their names were Deva, Fist, and Jaz. Hence, De-fis-ja. Please check out the Our Deceased Dogs link to see these beloved friends who are waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
